Well, Ostara is already here, and it seems like Imbolc was just yesterday. That’s two whole months ago! But hey, we’re glad for it, because we’ve been looking forward to the Oden Brewing Spring Equinox Festival 2023 for months now. And by we I mean me and my seven personalities.

Positively Overwhelmed
Sometimes I follow my blog calendar, other times I make prompts up on the spot. Sometimes my workout routine is regimented, other times I move (and dance, maybe) until I sweat. This blog entry is one of those latter times. I had planned to post about St. Patrick’s Day, but the origins of the holiday didn’t impress me (did you know that the first St. Patrick’s day parade supposedly occurred in Florida?). The next planned post was for Ostara, but I didn’t feel like doing extensive research. I’ve been working my a** off, all for the Oden Brewing Spring Equinox Festival 2023!

There are artists out there – even in Greensboro – who attend pop-up’s and festivals once, twice a month. Whose businesses are already registered as LLC’s, whose art form has already fit itself into a niche, whose incomes are already a good portion made up of art sales, online or via vending. I am not one of those artists… at least not anymore, and not yet!
The kind of artist that I am right now is one who has too many big ideas. The three big ones are: a comic series based on astrology about extraplanar beings; drawings that utilize stroke and line-work as a meditative focus to flesh out deeper psychological features of myself; and multimedia pieces aimed at highlighting, educating about, and saving the environment.
I’ve also collected over twenty dead insects to put into resin molds. I have over three thousand beer bottle caps waiting to be turned into a spectacle of a sculpture (I won’t tell you what I have in mind – it’ll have to be a surprise). Pete convinced me to try wood burning for the first time and it turns out, I’m pretty good at it.
We’ve built garden beds and just finished planting the seeds – the most Ostara thing we could be doing ’round this time. Our compost is like, 20×8 feet? And we just picked up thirty sheets of glass from Reconsidered Goods for a greenhouse we probably won’t build for a couple of years.

Plus, I’m trying to host trash pick-ups and art clubs under the ‘GSOVIBES’ brand name because I am passionate about the Greensboro community and developing a nonprofit or local business that brings people together to do art and connect with nature.
Oh, and I own a school bus, Bailey. She’s the reason why I am working as a school bus driver for Guilford County Schools and later this fall, taking diesel mechanics.
So when I say positively, I mean it’s all positive things; but also that I sure am overwhelmed.
Oden Brewing Spring Equinox Festival 2023
Those of you who actually read my blogs have already seen me advertise it everywhere, but hey! It’s this week! Saturday, March 25th! Please come out and hang!
So here are some sneak peeks…
GSOVIBES Spring Peeper T-Shirts
Learning how to use illustrator! This spring peeper was my first illustrator design ever. I sketch it on paper first, and I try to do it real big – so that if I choose to create a Workpath on Photoshop (and avoid drawing digitally altogether), it’s already big enough to be resized.

Worm Moon Design T-Shirts
This was also my first time designing and ordering my own t-shirts! Here’s the original sketch and how the first t-shirt looked when worn by Pete!

Other products
I’m going to have some “bundles” with T-shirts and stickers combined so that YOU, as my customers, can save money! Hooray! The bundles shown below were some I sent via mail to my stepmom, Arlene, who purchased the first bundles. Thanks, Arlene!
Also, almost all of the stickers were hand cut by yours, truly. So, please treasure them if you do buy some!
