Let us celebrate the Worm Moon (the full moon in March) and the coming of Spring with announcements of upcoming products, events, and other content.
Read more: Celebrate the Worm Moon and the Coming of SpringThe Worm Moon is named as such for the obvious reason of worms reappearing in early spring, but also for other types of worms like beetle larvae that “begin to emerge from the thawing bark of trees and other winter hideouts.” (Old Farmer’s Almanac)
Nonetheless, both worms symbolize the coming of Spring, akin to Imbolc’s symbolism (Imbolc at Art Club), but farther along in the season. I simply had to take the opportunity to draw, in Winged Warlock fashion, a dastardly-looking worm for the occasion.
Crooked Worm Moon Design
The moment I saw “Worm Moon” on my calendar, I knew I had to draw it in my Winged Warlock (WW) style. My WW art is channeled by the Snake in me, the creature that represents my Sagittarius Moon placement character in my Humanity Inc. comic series (Valentine’s Day 2023). My birthday blog post features a handful of drawings in this style, and they are indeed intended to be cringe-worthy, uncomfortable, or as I prefer to describe them, “crooked.”

Worm Moon Available on RedBubble
This design will available on RedBubble on various products… but only AFTER the Oden Brewing Spring Equinox Festival 2023! As you can see in the sketch shown above, the original drawing size is only 9×12. To make it resizable for my products but not lose its sketch style, I use the “Make Work Path” method on Photoshop and make it pretty big. Although I did not record the pencil and pen part of the process, the video below is the screen recording of how I edited it for product purposes. It also shows how I added on its tail, because I hadn’t given myself enough space for it, because it didn’t originally have a barbed tail… that was Pete’s idea. Gotta give credit where credit is due!
Winged Warlock
The Winged Warlock, my Sag Moon, the snake nicknamed “Bea,” is named for the following reasons:
- “Winged”: a Sagittarius is symbolized by a centaur shooting a bow and arrow. The arrow flies.
- When I was in ROTC, I thought I was going to become a pilot. Although being a bus driver is very different, what remains the same is that I love “piloting,” driving, being in control of the vehicle that is a forward-moving force.
- “Warlock”: I believe that I have made a contract with the fae, and they in turn grant me with magical energy.
- I also believe that the part of myself that entered into the contract or is at least the most pleased by it is specifically my Sag moon!
Oden Brewing’s Spring Equinox Festival 2023

Those of you who attended Oden’s Fall Fest this past September of ’22, come on back for Oden Brewing’s Spring Equinox Festival 2023! Those of you who were not present last time, come check out what you missed – as well as some new things, too!
ABSGELLER Products
The products I displayed last time will be up for sale once again – and they are also now (slowly becoming) available on RedBubble in case you cannot attend but are still interested in purchasing them.
New products, however, will include the Frog Blog’s spring peeper of course; our friendly and adorable worm, here; and not only will they be sold as prints, but also as apparel!
You will be able to purchase these two designs on T-shirts, hoodies, and reusable bags. Listen to Tim Minchen and bring ’em to your local supermarket.
Bailey the Bus collaborates with Reconsidered Goods
A pop-up art-maker space will be taking up residence on Bailey for the festival thanks to Reconsidered Goods!
Reconsidered Goods is a local non-profit which repurposes waste, art tools, and other materials of really any kind at all – like ANY kind, they have even started taking lab waste that no one else is willing to deal with – for sale at super cheap prices. They are like the Ed McKay’s of DIY materials. The art hub of environmental friendliness. Your neighborhood pawn shop, but without the uncomfortable bartering and steep price pitches. Your hoarder grandmother’s stock, but unlike your meemaw’s basement, bright and organized and clean.
GSOVIBES Trash Pick Up #3
Our third Trash Pick Up will be on March 11th, two weeks before the Spring fest. We try to space out events every two weeks, always on Saturdays, to give our regulars a break from having to deal with the Pete-and-Drea-overly-enthusiastic energies. Anyways, here’s the flyer 🙂

Birdhouses & Garden Beds
Lastly, if you’re interested in learning more about woodburning, or getting insight into how we built each of our garden beds, keep an eye out for those Springly videos on my YouTube channel! Here are some sneak peeks:
